This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Upon achievement of a State license, the individual may be appointed on temporary basis and later converted to a permanent appointment upon successful completion and graduation from the bridge program. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, such as investigation of incidents which occur during tour, including obtaining statements from staff-on-the-spot. He/she is a consultant to physicians' inpatient care and resource/discharge planning; collaborates with the Administrative Officer on Duty as needed for decisions related to ongoing patient care and actions taken in emergency situations and disasters; works closely with bed management and nurse managers to facilitate patient flow in the Medical Center, coordinates group self-schedules; covers coordinator absences and makes arrangements among the group to cover each other's unplanned absences; and performs pre-certification using InterQual Standards. Provides daily updates on hospital status to Nurse Executive for care provision and planning.
