FULLTIME Physician position is located in Ambulatory Care Service Line, Primary Care Section at the Raymond G. Murphy New Mexico VAMC, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The incumbent serves as a Primary Care Physician. Duties include but are not limited to: providing comprehensive outpatient care for a panel of adult patients through a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Model, also utilizing Tele-health as a resource of providing care. Serves as a provider who is highly skilled in the management of a patient's primary care needs or sub specialty evaluation and treatment; responsible to contribute to the achievement of quality of care standards, efficiency, process improvement and patient satisfaction; writes orders for diagnostic testing prescribed medications and consultation to specialty services utilizing computer-keyboarding techniques. The incumbent is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, values, and with a commitment to service excellence.
The NMVAHCS is a tertiary referral center consisting of 167 acute hospital beds, 90 residential rehabilitation treatment program beds and a 36 bed Nursing Home Care Unit. Albuquerque is home to the sole VA Hospital in the state but the NMVAHCS operates seven (7) VA staffed Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) and five (6) contract CBOCs throughout the state and southern Colorado. Annually over 57,000 veterans are served and 887,00 outpatient visits are provided.

- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine. - Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completion ofresidency training or its equivalent, approved by theSecretary of Veterans Affairsinan accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. (NOTE: VA Physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status.) Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the accrediting bodies for graduate medical education, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA), in the list published for the year the residency was completed, or (2) Other residencies or their equivalents which the local Professional Standards Board determines to have providedan applicant with appropriate professional training.
