VNH operates a budget of approximately $22 million with net assets of $23 million, and receives funding through Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, private pay, and contributions from many of the communities we serve, businesses, individuals, and grants which makes us one of the largest and financially strong agencies in New England. VNH makes home visits to people of all ages and all stages of life – regardless of ability to pay – and also provides communities with education and wellness programs.
Currently, VNH employs nearly 230 people, serves more than 160 towns in Vermont and New Hampshire and covers 4,000 square miles. The President/CEO Is accountable for the overall strategic direction, fiscal management and administration of the Agency within the framework of Board approved objectives, policies and programs. The President/CEO will assure the leadership and administrative responsibilities of the Agency are carried out in accordance with the mission and values. The President/CEO reports to the Board of Trustees and to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health CEO (or his/her designee). The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively in a multi institutional integrated health system. In addition, he/she oversees the Agency programs including home health care, population health, long term care, and skilled pediatric and hospice services as well as the operation of our subsidiary, Help At Home, a private duty organization.

The President/ CEO will be a visionary, forward-thinking leader with an entrepreneurial spirit. He/she will have strong interpersonal skills and will be a team player as well as a team leader and a collaborative relationship-builder. The ideal candidate will come with strong business acumen that will enable him/her to make effective decisions regarding the future growth of the agency. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including outstanding public speaking skills are essential as the President/CEO represents the Agency to its various constituencies. As the Agency advocate for high quality care delivery and patience experience, he/she will champion best practices and performance improvement. Possessing proven fundraising experience and the ability to relate comfortably with a variety of funding sources, including public funding stream contacts, and individuals is essential. He/she will have critical thinking skills and will display integrity, good judgment, technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and logical priority-setting skills.
Advanced degree in nursing, health administration, public health or clinical field required.
Advanced clinical education preferred: APRN, RN, MD, Ph.D, DO, PT, MSW, from an accredited college or university.
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior level health care leadership or administrative position required.
Recent experience in home based care required.
Experience in a leadership role within a large health system desired.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
